Job Description: Draughtsman

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical drawings, 2D/3D models, and layout plans using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.).
• Convert design concepts, rough sketches, and specifications into accurate engineering drawings.
• Assist engineers/designers in developing and revising drawings based on project requirements.
• Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, project specifications, and company drafting guidelines.
• Update and maintain drawing documentation, revision logs, and drawing archives.
• Coordinate with engineers, project teams, and clients to gather information and clarify design details.
• Perform site measurements, inspections, and data collection when required.
• Produce BOM (Bill of Materials), part lists, and fabrication details.
• Support production, fabrication, or construction teams by providing clear documentation and technical clarification.
• Identify potential design issues and propose practical solutions.
• Ensure drawings are delivered within project timelines and quality standards.

Job Requirements

Requirements

• Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, CAD Design, or related field.
• Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.).
• Strong understanding of technical drawings, GD&T, engineering standards, and fabrication processes.
• Ability to interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and instructions.
• Good attention to detail, accuracy, and technical judgment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work within deadlines.
• Experience in mechanical/industrial drafting (added advantage).

Additional Advantages (Optional to include)

• Experience in 3D modelling for machinery, structures, piping, or industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes (welding, machining, sheet metal, assembly).
• Familiarity with ISO standards or QA/QC documentation.
• Ability to produce rendering or presentation drawings.
