Job Description

As the FMCG Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing merchandising initiatives that enhance product placement, visibility, and overall retail performance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that merchandising strategies align with the company's objectives and deliver optimal results in retail environments. This role requires exceptional project management skills, industry expertise, strong leadership and the ability to drive results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Your responsibilities will include :-

  • Collaborating with clients or stakeholders to understand their event objectives, requirements, and budget.
  • Lead and manage merchandising projects from concept to execution, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Work closely with retail partners to ensure that merchandising standards are consistently met, and that products are optimally positioned in-stores.
  • Track and analyze the performance of merchandising initiatives, providing actionable insights and recommendations to improve effectiveness and ROI.
  • Provide guidance and direction to the merchandising team, ensuring that all projects are executed efficiently and in alignment with the overall merchandising strategy.
  • Ensure that all merchandising projects comply with brand guidelines, legal requirements, and quality standards.
  • Prepare detailed reports on merchandising project outcomes, including successes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement, and present these to senior management. 
  • Analyzing sales data, market trends, and customer feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of merchandising strategies and make data-driven recommendations for improvement. 
  • Identifying potential risks and developing contingency plans to mitigate them.
  • Conducting post-event evaluations to assess the success of the event and gather feedback from clients, attendees, and stakeholders.

Job Requirements

  • Must have at least 2 years of merchandising experience in FMCG Industry
  • Must be willing to travel and possess own transport for work-related activities. Occasionally be on-site during weekends.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, judgments, and prioritize workload as well as capacity for teamwork in a pressured and fast-moving, busy environment with multiple projects running concurrently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills with excellent presentation skills.
