Project Role Description:
The Network Infrastructure Engineer / SME is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise-level network systems.
This role requires deep technical expertise in networking technologies, infrastructure architecture, and security best practices.
The SME will act as a trusted advisor to client, providing guidance on complex network challenges and ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance of IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Architecture
- Develop and implement network infrastructure strategies aligned with business goals.
- Architect LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, and cloud networking solutions.
- Ensure scalability, redundancy, and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Implementation & Operations
- Configure and deploy routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.
- Manage network monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Oversee upgrades, migrations, and integration of new technologies.
- Security & Compliance
- Implement network security policies, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and access controls.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO, NIST, GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability management.
- Subject Matter Expertise
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex network issues.
- Advise stakeholders on emerging technologies and best practices.
- Collaboration & Documentation
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (cloud, systems, DevOps, security).
- Document network designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Support audits, capacity planning, and strategic IT initiatives.
