Job Description

SHARIAH RESEARCH AND ADVISORY-

1. To coordinate communications and disseminating information among the Shariah committee, Alliance Islamic Board of Directors and senior management.
2. To perform in-depth research and studies on Shariah issues related to Islamic banking, Islamic capital market (sukuk, corporate finance and equity syndication) products and services and other Shariah matters.
3. To provide day-to-day advice to relevant parties within Alliance Islamic and Alliance Group on Shariah matters based on the rulings of the SAC and decisions or advice of the Shariah committee e.g.:
   • • Reviewing publication, communication and marketing materials (PCM)
     • Reviewing policy & procedures owned by Alliance Islamic and Alliance Group LOBs governing Islamic products and services
     • Reviewing credit application for financing and trade facility to ensure compliance with Shariah
     • Providing support to Product Developer in structuring Islamic banking products and services
4. To ensure proper dissemination of decisions or advice of the Shariah committee within Alliance Islamic and Alliance Group.
5. To undertake administrative and secretarial functions to support the Shariah committee.
6. To conduct gap analysis for new Shariah related Policy Documents, provide feedback for Exposure Draft and survey conducted by BNM, Securities Commission and other parties.
7. To collaborate with Group Human Resources Learning & Development as well as other LOBs in delivering training on Shariah matters.

ADMINISTRATION OF ZAKAT, ISLAMIC SOCIAL FINANCE AND SHARIAH NON-COMPLIANT (SNC) INCOMES

Assisting on the administration of zakat, Islamic social finance and Shariah non-compliant incomes which includes spearheading social finance initiatives, conducting research, execution of zakat strategy, reviewing the zakat computation prepared by Business Finance Manager and performing the distribution of zakat, social fund and SNC incomes.
