Job Description

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 4 (junior and senior accountants), including performance reviews and feedback.
  • Oversee financial services such as bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable, and reconciliations.
  • Review and finalize financial statements, reports, and reconciliations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for high-value clients (average 2 meetings per month), providing insights and solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
  • Maintain accountability for deadlines, accuracy, and client satisfaction.
  • Adapt to the demands of a fast-paced SME client base while balancing both senior-level and junior-level tasks.
  • Optimize processes for efficiency, incorporating digital accounting tools.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align team goals with the firm’s objectives.
  • Support the implementation of new systems and processes to enhance service delivery.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CA, or CIMA.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Dext by Iris, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
  • High accountability and hands-on attitude.
  • Prior audit experience (preferably Big 4) is an advantage.
  • Willingness to adapt to digitalized accounting systems.
