Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to establish and lead our offshore accounting support services centre. This role will be responsible for building the team from the ground up, managing end-to-end deliverables, and providing direct accounting support where required. The successful candidate will combine strong technical accounting expertise with proven leadership and operational management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Setup & Leadership

• Lead the establishment of the offshore accounting support centre, including recruitment, onboarding, and overseeing the training of the entire team.
• Define team structure, roles, and responsibilities to ensure effective service delivery.
• Build a high-performing culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Operational & Deliverables Management

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, fixed assets, general ledger, and month-end closing.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of financial deliverables in accordance with SLAs, KPIs, and compliance requirements.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures, process efficiencies, and automation initiatives to drive operational excellence.

First Contact for Accounting Issues

• Act as the first point of contact for routine accounting queries and issue resolution.
• Escalate complex or critical issues to the onshore finance teams as necessary.
• Ensure clear communication and timely responses to stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as the key liaison between the offshore centre and onshore finance and business stakeholders.
• Partner with business leaders to understand requirements, resolve escalations, and deliver consistent service quality.
• Drive knowledge transfer and smooth transition of processes from onshore to offshore.

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CA) strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Proven track record in setting up or managing an offshore/shared service accounting team.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance standards.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, build, and lead effective teams.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Hands-on, detail-oriented, with ability to balance people leadership and operational responsibilities.
• Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and strong MS Excel skills.
