Research Reports

• Minimum 10-12 core coverage reports (4-5 coverage across each sector) to establish strong knowledge in particular assigned sectors coverage.
• 2 non-rated reports on annual basis to provide fresh investment ideas.
• Periodic thematic reports across each sector to generate investment strategies for clients.
• Contribution to daily market reports to keep up-to-date on financial news flow.

Research Analysis

• Conduct thorough research and generate comprehensive research reports on assigned sector coverage to deliver high standard of research report.
• Built, develop and maintain financial models to forecast valuation of companies.
• Develop investment strategies based on assigned sector coverage to be compiled into the team’s strategy report.

Customer Relationship and Branding Establishment

• Actively attend to private or organised briefings with PLC, particularly those under coverage as well as related companies in the assigned sector coverage.
• Present in institutional meetings, webinars and conference calls pertaining to assigned sector coverage to instil investment confidence and direction to participants.
• Present on updates of core coverage reports and economics report in daily morning briefings.

Teamwork

• Provide guidance to junior research analyst.
• Assist closely the Head of Research on ad-hoc requests pertaining to research role to ensure tasks are completed within stipulated timeframe.
• Generate marginal list tabulation whenever necessary or required from credit risk management department to assist in risk management exposure.

Job Requirements

• Possess a recognised Degree in Business Studies, Economics, Finance/Accountancy/Banking, or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in buy/sell side equity research
• Holder of Securities Commission Module 12&19/19A license.
• Strong technical understanding of Malaysia equity markets.
• Zero adverse record on findings over fit and proper standing.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent analytical skills.
