About this internship
At Boolland, we build Shopify eCommerce websites and modern web experiences for brands across Southeast Asia. We're hiring a Shopify Web Frontend Developer Intern to work directly on live storefronts — not throwaway side projects.
What you'll do
- Customize Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Translate Figma designs into responsive, on-brand pages
- Build theme sections and blocks so non-technical teammates can self-serve
- Improve page speed, accessibility, and mobile experience
- Fix layout bugs and browser quirks across live stores
- Sit in on merchant planning calls so you understand the why behind each task
What you'll learn
- Real, shipped Shopify storefront work for your portfolio
- Hands-on Liquid and Shopify theme architecture (sections, blocks, snippets, metafields)
- Practical Git, code review, and design-to-code workflows
- How eCommerce teams actually operate — design, dev, merchandising, marketing
The Details
- Duration: flexible 3–6 months, matched to your university's internship period
- Allowance: RM800–RM1,500 per month, based on duration and prior experience
- Working arrangement: remote-friendly by default; office in SS2 Petaling Jaya if you want a desk or in-person time
- Equipment: bring your own laptop and a stable internet connection
No prior Shopify experience required — we'll teach you Liquid and the Shopify ecosystem in your first weeks.
How to apply
Please apply through our Google Form. We read every application personally.

We're hiring final-year degree students (doing internship semester) and recent degree graduates.
Must have
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree (Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Multimedia, or any related field)
- Comfortable with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — you've built at least a few small projects from scratch
- Familiar with Git basics (clone, branch, commit, pull request)
- Comfortable reading and writing in English in code reviews and Slack
Nice to have (not required)
- Experience with Liquid, Twig, or any templating language
- Used Figma to inspect designs
- Built anything with Tailwind, SCSS, or a JS framework (Vue, React, Alpine)
- Any prior Shopify work — even a Dawn theme tweak counts
What we care about most
- Genuine curiosity about eCommerce and how online stores work
- Love for frontend development — layout, type, motion, performance
- Attention to detail — you actually compare your work to the design before saying it's done
- Eager to learn through real client projects
You do not need a polished portfolio. Assignment projects and personal experiments count. Skills and curiosity matter more to us than your transcript.
