The Role 
The SMT Technician is responsible for maintaining, improving, and monitoring the Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production process. This role involves equipment setup, troubleshooting, process optimization, and data analysis to ensure stable production output and continuous improvement in product quality.
Key Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Possess full knowledge of all relevant SMT equipment, including:</li>
<ul>
<li>Operating procedures</li>
<li>Process troubleshooting techniques</li>
</ul>
<li>Train new and existing technicians in SMT processes.</li>
<li>Document and maintain optimum SMT parameter settings.</li>
<li>Design, document, and implement systems for process checking and monitoring.</li>
<li>Improve and maintain SMT jigs and fixtures.</li>
<li>Analyze and improve SMT PPM yield performance.</li>
<li>Prepare and submit weekly SMT performance analysis reports.</li>
<li>Train SPC operators on:</li>
<ul>
<li>Temperature profile plotting for each setup</li>
<li>QDMS data capturing</li>
<li>Daily Z-check verification</li>
</ul>
<li>Analyze SPC data and recommend corrective actions when out-of-control conditions occur.</li>
<li>Conduct daily monitoring of dry cabinets, fridges, and thermo-hygrographs.</li>
<li>Handle and follow up on Corrective Action Requests (CAR) related to SMT.</li>
<li>Ensure proper filing and record retention of production documents.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Process Engineer.</li>
</ul>
