Our Origin Story
We officially opened our doors in September 2022. It wasn't a grand, corporate launch; it was a passion project among friends. The whole idea was born out of the pandemic, realizing how much the simple, authentic flavors meant to us. When we found a beautiful, old bungalow in the heart of the city, we knew it was the perfect spot. We wanted people to feel like they were coming home, escaping the city hustle for a genuine taste of tradition.

What We Do Here
Our mission at our restaurant is simple: keep the heritage alive through food.

<li>Authenticity First: We don't take shortcuts. We source all our ingredients fresh from the market every morning. We make sure we use real "cili hidup" (fresh chilies) and hand-peel every bit of "kunyit" (turmeric) ourselves. You won't find any pre-packaged coconut milk here; only the real deal.</li>
<li>The Experience: We offer a laid-back, self-service lunch experience (like a school canteen!) where you can pick from over 30 different dishes we’ve cooked that morning.</li>
<li>Our Pride and Joy: People really love our signatures, like the tender Daging Salai Masak Lemak Cili Api (smoked beef in spicy coconut gravy) and our amazing Lamb Shank Masak Lemak.</li>
<li>The Vibe: We designed the place to feel welcoming—a mix of classic charm and modern comfort. We hope that when you dine with us, you feel that warm, nostalgic "balik kampung" (going home) feeling, right here in the middle of the city.</li>

Key Responsibilities
As a key member of our Service Crew, you will be the face of Banglo 289, ensuring every guest has a memorable and delightful dining experience.
<ul>
<li>Guest Hospitality: Greet guests warmly upon arrival, manage seating arrangements, and ensure all diners feel welcomed and valued.</li>
<li>Service &amp; Operations: Guide guests through our self-service/canteen-style lunch setup, explain menu items with knowledge and enthusiasm, and assist with any specific needs or requests.</li>
<li>Order &amp; Payment Handling: Efficiently manage Point-of-Sale (POS) transactions, handle cash and credit card payments accurately, and assist guests with the ordering process.</li>
<li>Restaurant Upkeep: Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and ambiance of the dining area, including tables, condiment stations, and general FOH space.</li>
<li>Teamwork &amp; Communication: Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other FOH crew members to ensure smooth service flow, especially during peak hours.</li>
<li>Problem Solving: Address guest feedback or concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues to the FOH Supervisor or Manager when necessary.</li>
</ul>
