About the Role

Great designs need great drawings to become reality.

At Upstage Expo, we're looking for a Draughtsman who can turn creative concepts into accurate, practical and buildable technical drawings for exhibition booths, event spaces and custom-built structures.

You'll work closely with our designers, project team, contractors and production partners to make sure that what looks great on screen can actually be built beautifully in the real world.

• Prepare detailed 2D technical drawings, construction drawings and shop drawings for exhibition booths, event structures and related projects.
• Translate designers' 3D concepts and layouts into accurate, buildable technical drawings.
• Prepare floor plans, elevations, sections, detailing and dimensions required for fabrication and installation.
• Produce detailed drawings for custom-built elements, counters, display units, wall structures, signage and other exhibition components.
• Review design drawings and identify potential construction, measurement or technical issues before production.
• Ensure drawings are accurate in terms of dimensions, materials, specifications and construction details.
• Revise and update drawings according to client, designer, production or site requirements.
• Work closely with Design, Operations, Production and Project teams to ensure drawings meet project requirements.
• Liaise with contractors, carpenters, fabricators and suppliers to clarify technical details when necessary.
• Conduct site measurements and site visits when required.
• Ensure drawings are completed according to project timelines and production deadlines.
• Maintain proper drawing versions, documentation and project records.
• Support the project team in solving technical and construction-related issues during fabrication and onsite setup.

Job Requirements

• Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Drafting, Construction, Engineering or a related field.
• Approximately 1–3 years of relevant drafting experience preferred.
• Fresh graduates with strong technical drawing skills and a good portfolio are also welcome to apply.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of SketchUp, 3ds Max or other relevant design/drafting software is an advantage.
• Able to read and understand design concepts, technical drawings, measurements and construction details.
• Good understanding of materials, dimensions and basic construction/fabrication methods.
• Experience in exhibition, event, interior fit-out, renovation, carpentry or architectural drafting is a strong advantage.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of drawing accuracy.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple drawing deadlines.
• Resourceful and willing to communicate when a design may not be practical to fabricate.
• Able to work in a fast-moving, project-based environment.
• Willing to conduct site visits and support exhibition setup when required.
