Vacancy: Master Data Analyst

Location: Kuala Lumpur 

 

Johnson Matthey IT (JM IT) is Johnson Matthey’s global IT function responsible for ensuring that our IT capabilities are not only able to support and integrate technologies but can also offer insight into future IT tools that could provide us with a competitive edge and improved operating efficiencies.   

 

The Master Data Analyst roles are part of our Data and Integration Platform team, will be key to unlocking the power of master data at JM. Global Master Data Integration Operations is a Shared Service for Master Data Management (MDM) supporting all of JM.  

 

The Master Data Analysts will create and maintain a number of globally administered master data objects across ERP and Enterprise Systems. The role ensures that all data is maintained according to the standards, policies and other reference documentation applicable. The role ensures that master data is maintained consistently across systems (SAP and non-SAP) that use that master data. 

 

Your responsibilities: 

  • Maintenance of the master data in Enterprise systems according to the documented metadata element definitions 

  • Works within the SLA requirements of the service definition for master data maintenance 

  • Acts as subject matter expert on master data towards data owners and data requestors 

  • Ensures that data replication across Enterprise Systems is monitored and checked for consistency and accuracy, and appropriate actions are taken when necessary 

  • Monitoring data replication across system boundaries (including external applications) and ensures  

  • that replicated data is maintained according to the requirements of the data replication  

  • specifications for the data 

  • Maintains routine quality checking on master data and takes appropriate actions to advise users on deviations from norms 

  • Ensures consistent use of data across systems 

  • Maintains adequate documentation on data usage and maintenance 

  • Maintains documentation on authorising business owners for data elements 

  • To carry out any other duties which are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed 

 

Requirements for the role: 

  • Previous data management experience 

  • Experience in working directly with business teams 

  • Methodical approach, attention to detail 

  • Logical, process-based approach to problem solving 

  • Rigorous and disciplined approach
