Job Requirements
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed scope definitions, work breakdown structures, schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Define project milestones, deliverables, and resource requirements in alignment with business objectives.
- Establish and implement project management frameworks, methodologies, and standards.
On-Site Management and Execution:
- Lead all on-site deployment activities for hardware installation, including racking, stacking, cabling (power and network).
- Oversee the daily operations on the data center floor, ensuring all work complies with strict data center security, safety, and operational protocols.
- Conduct regular site walks and inspections to monitor progress, quality of work, and adherence to installation standards.
Stakeholder and Resource Coordination:
- Act as the primary liaison between all internal teams (Network, Security, Facilities, Operations) and external parties (hardware vendors, logistics providers, cabling contractors).
- Proactively manage communication with all stakeholders, providing regular, clear updates on project status, risks, and issues.
- Coordinate and manage the schedules of various teams and contractors to optimize workflow and prevent conflicts on the data center floor.
Team Leadership and Vendor Management:
- Lead and motivate a project team comprising technicians, engineers, and contractor staff.
- Manage vendor relationships, ensuring they deliver on their contractual obligations in terms of quality, schedule, and cost.
Conduct performance evaluations of vendor work and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
Quality, Risk, and Compliance Management:
- Implement rigorous quality control checkpoints throughout the deployment lifecycle.
- Identify, assess, and proactively manage project risks and issues; develop and execute effective contingency plans.
- Ensure full compliance with local Malaysian regulations, company policies, and data center best practices.
Budget and Reporting:
- Track project expenditures against the approved budget, providing forecasts and explaining any variances.
- Prepare and present detailed project status reports, dashboards, and documentation to senior management.
