The Sales Engineer plays a key role in driving business growth by actively engaging with existing and potential customers, identifying sales opportunities, and promoting the company’s products and services. The role combines technical expertise with strong commercial acumen to develop customer relationships, understand operational challenges, and propose suitable technical solutions.
This position requires frequent interaction with clients through meetings, site visits, and technical discussions to support business development, expand market presence, and achieve sales targets.
Core Responsibilities
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards, and work instructions.
- Actively engage with existing and potential customers through meetings, site visits, and technical discussions to promote company products and services.
- Identify new business opportunities, projects, and service requirements within assigned accounts and territories.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer stakeholders to understand their operational challenges and upcoming requirements.
- Collaborate with customers to understand technical requirements and recommend suitable products, services, or engineered solutions.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations, proposals, quotations, and commercial offers aligned with customer requirements.
- Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, operations, service teams) to ensure solutions proposed are technically and commercially viable.
- Develop and manage a sales pipeline, tracking opportunities from initial engagement through proposal submission to order closure.
- Conduct contract reviews and ensure orders are aligned with approved proposals and tender requirements prior to acceptance.
- Provide post-sales support and maintain engagement with customers to ensure satisfaction and identify further opportunities.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify potential sales opportunities.
- Maintain accurate sales records, opportunity tracking, customer interactions, and forecasts using the company’s CRM/ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365).
- Any other tasks or projects as assigned by the employer or management.
