Job Description

The Senior Accounting Executive will handle day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions, compliance with accounting standards, and support in financial reporting. This role requires attention to detail, urgency in completing tasks, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Process supplier invoices, staff claims, and payment requests
  • Verify supporting documents, purchase orders, and approvals before payment
  • Prepare payment runs (cheques, online banking) according to schedule
  • Maintain vendor records and reconcile supplier statements

2. Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Issue customer invoices promptly and accurately
  • Monitor collections and follow up on overdue payments
  • Record receipts and update AR aging reports
  • Maintain customer account details and payment records

3. General Ledger & Reconciliation

  • Record and post journal entries into accounting system
  • Reconcile bank statements, petty cash, and other balance sheet items
  • Ensure all transactions are coded accurately to the correct accounts

4. Month-End & Year-End Closing

  • Assist in preparing month-end closing schedules
  • Prepare supporting documents for audit and tax submissions
  • Work with Finance Manager to ensure timely submission of reports

5. Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, and statutory requirements
  • Maintain proper filing of financial documents for easy retrieval
  • Assist with SST submissions and other regulatory filings

6. Administrative & Ad-Hoc Tasks

  • Support administrative functions related to finance operations
  • Assist in budgeting and expense tracking for events/outlets
  • Handle ad-hoc finance projects as assigned

Job Requirements

Key Requirements

  • Must be Able to Manage Full Set Account
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • At least 2 - 5 years of relevant experience (Start-Up or retail/F&B background is an advantage)
  • Proficient in Accounting Software (SQL) and MS Excel
  • Strong Sense of Urgency, accuracy, and Responsibility
  • Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude
