Job Description

As Retail Sales Manager, you’ll lead the growth of our new fashion brand in Malaysia by driving retail expansion, securing new store locations, forming strategic partnerships, and executing new retail initiatives.

Job Scope:

Retail Expansion Strategy

  • Develop and execuite retail growth plans aligned with brand goals.
  • Identify high-potential locations and formats (standalone, malls, consignment, pop-ups) through market and competitor research.
  • Plan short- and long-term retail rollout across key cities in Malaysia.

    New Store Developmenet & Project Management
  • Lead new store launches from site sourcing to opening, including lease negotiations, budgeting, and timelines.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive store setup and brand consistency.
  • Oversee contractors, vendors, and consultants involved in the store build.

    Strategic Partnerships & Consignment
  • Secure consignment placements with department stores and multi-brand retailers.
  • Build strong relationships with partners to enhance brand reach and sales.
  • Negotiate agreements and ensure brand standards are upheld across partner touchpoints.

    Commercial & Sales Focus
  • Align with sales and ops teams to meet revenue targets for new stores.
  • Monitor outlet performance and ROI to guide future expansion.
  • Support marketing efforts for launches and retail activations.

    Brand Representation & Market Presence
  • Represent the brand in landlord and retail partner meetings.
  • Attend industry events to strengthen brand presence and network.
  • Share market insights on consumer behavior and retail trends.

    Reporting & Strategic Input
  • Report regularly on pipeline progress and business opportunities.
  • Contribute to brand strategy with insights on market positioning and competition.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • 5+ years experience in retail business development, store expansion, or commercial real estate, preferably in the fashion or lifestyle sector.
  • Proven track record in launching new retail locations and securing strategic partnerships.
  • Strong commercial acumen with negotiation, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Well-connected within the Malaysian retail and property scene is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent communication in English and Mandarin. Bahasa Malaysia is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel frequently across Malaysia & Singapore.
