Job Description

We are looking for a Creative Copywriter cum Strategist who can combine strategic thinking with strong creative writing. This role is responsible for shaping brand positioning, developing key messaging, crafting campaign big ideas, and translating strategy into compelling brand and marketing communications.

The ideal candidate should be able to understand a client’s business, market, and audience, then turn those insights into clear brand direction, creative concepts, and persuasive copy across branding and campaign projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop brand positioning, brand strategy, and key messaging frameworks.
  • Create campaign big ideas, creative concepts, and communication directions for brands.
  • Write compelling copy for taglines, slogans, brand stories, websites, social media, ads, scripts, and presentations.
  • Translate business goals and consumer insights into clear and effective brand communication.
  • Work closely with the creative director, designers, digital marketer, account servicing team, and clients to align strategy with execution.
  • Conduct research on market trends, competitors, target audience, and consumer behaviour.
  • Build and define brand voice, tone of voice, messaging pillars, and communication style.
  • Support proposal pitches with strategic thinking, concept development, and persuasive presentation content.
  • Ensure all campaign and brand communications are aligned with the client’s positioning and objectives.
  • Present ideas, rationale, and strategic directions clearly to internal teams and clients.

Job Requirements

  • Experience in a branding agency, advertising agency, or creative agency.
  • Strong skills in copywriting, brand strategy, and campaign ideation.
  • Good understanding of brand positioning, consumer insights, marketing strategy, and communication planning.
  • Able to connect strategy with creative execution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Presentation and proposal-writing skills are an advantage.
  • English proficiency is required; Chinese and Bahasa Malaysia are a bonus.
  • Portfolio with brand strategy, campaign concept, and copywriting work is preferred.
