Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a SMT Process Engineer located in Flex PTP.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager the SMT Process Engineer role is responsible to set up and optimize SMT equipment and processes to meet production goals, quality standards, and operational efficiency.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Create and edit SMT machine programs based on PCB design data (Gerber files) and component specifications.
  • Define pick-and-place locations, component feed configurations, and optimal placement sequences.
  • Conduct programming and setup of SMT equipment (e.g., pick and place machines, SPI, AOI, etc.).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve SMT process issues, improve yield, and enhance overall production performance.
  • Support new product introductions (NPI) by developing and validating SMT processes for new designs and prototypes.
  • Conduct process audits and implement improvements to ensure high-quality production and compliance with industry standards.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and implement corrective actions to improve process stability and output.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes for SMT-related defects and issues.
  • Managing critical processes at the SMT line, including ASM, Traceability, SPI, and AOI.
  • To achieve KPI defined by Management and continuously improvement on related performance Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
  • Lead and train a team of Technicians.
  • Additional duties as assigned by management.

  

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor' degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic), Engineering (Industrial), Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.
  • At least 3 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Strong technical knowledge of SMT machines AOI, SPI and Traceability, including programming, setup, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with process optimization, line balancing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
