We are looking for an experienced and motivated Indirect Tax Executive to join our growing Tax Advisory team. In this role, you will work closely with clients across various industries, providing practical advice on indirect tax matters while ensuring compliance with Malaysian tax regulations. Key Responsibilities

• Manage indirect tax compliance engagements, including the preparation and review of Sales and Service Tax (SST) returns.
• Provide advisory services on SST, customs duties, and other indirect tax matters affecting clients' business operations.
• Conduct technical research on indirect tax legislation, public rulings, and customs guidelines to support client engagements.
• Assist clients with SST registration, deregistration, refund applications, exemption matters, and voluntary disclosures.
• Handle SST audits, reviews, and enquiries conducted by the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD), including preparing audit documentation, responding to tax queries, and liaising with the authorities.
• Identify indirect tax risks and recommend practical solutions to enhance compliance and minimise tax exposure.
• Prepare technical reports, tax opinions, presentations, and client correspondence.
• Manage day-to-day administration of assigned client portfolios and ensure timely delivery of engagements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by providing responsive and professional service.
• Keep abreast of changes in indirect tax legislation and share relevant developments with clients and colleagues.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Law, or a related discipline. Professional qualifications such as ACCA, ICAEW, CPA Australia, MICPA-CAANZ, CTIM, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in indirect tax within a tax advisory, accounting, or professional services environment.
• Good understanding of Malaysian Sales and Service Tax (SST) legislation and customs regulations.
• Experience in handling SST compliance, tax advisory assignments, and tax authority audits or enquiries.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical tax matters clearly to clients.
• Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage multiple assignments independently while meeting deadlines.
