Job Summary

The Finance / Accounting Executive is responsible for handling day-to-day financial and accounting operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with statutory and internal requirements. This role supports budgeting, expense control, payment processing, and coordination with internal departments and external parties.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Experience handling accounts in SMEs is an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Good knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with Malaysian statutory requirements and payroll processes.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Able to meet deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Maintain full set or partial set of accounts, including AP, AR, and GL.
  • Record daily financial transactions accurately and timely.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and account reconciliations.

2. Payments & Expense Management

  • Process supplier invoices, staff claims, and payment requests.
  • Monitor and control company expenses in accordance with approved budgets.
  • Prepare payment schedules and ensure timely payments to vendors.
  • Coordinate with internal teams for fund requests related to operations and production.

3. Payroll & Staff Claims Support

  • Assist in monthly payroll preparation, including allowances, overtime, and deductions.
  • Process staff claims and reimbursements according to company policy.
  • Coordinate with HR on payroll data, attendance, and statutory deductions.

4. Statutory & Compliance Matters

  • Prepare and submit statutory payments and reports (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB).
  • Assist in SST matters (if applicable), including documentation and reporting.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax agents, banks, and relevant authorities when required.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

5. Reporting & Financial Support

  • Prepare monthly management reports and basic financial analysis.
  • Support budget preparation, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring.
  • Assist in year-end closing and audit preparation.
  • Provide financial data and reports to management upon request.

6. Internal Control & Process Improvement

  • Ensure proper internal controls are followed for financial transactions.
  • Highlight discrepancies, irregularities, or non-compliance to management.
  • Support the development and improvement of finance SOPs and workflows.

7. General Finance & Administrative Duties

  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
  • Support ad-hoc finance and administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
