About the role

Join a dynamic team where your payroll expertise will not only ensure seamless processes but also shape how we deliver exceptional service to our employees and stakeholders. As a Payroll Specialist, you'll take on a pivotal role in managing end-to-end payroll activities while driving innovation and improvements in payroll operations.

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Handle all payroll activities, including onboarding new hires, processing leavers, managing statutory and occupational payments, overtime, annual leave, and adjustments for salary and shift patterns.
  • Generate and distribute monthly payroll reports that provide critical insights for managers and finance teams, enabling informed business decisions.
  • Respond promptly to payroll queries through ServiceNow, providing clarity and assistance to employees. Facilitate access to online payroll self-service systems or provide hard-copy payslips as needed.
  • Design and deliver engaging payroll training workshops to empower employees with knowledge and confidence in navigating payroll processes.
  • Ensure payroll procedures meet all legal and audit requirements, maintaining the highest standards of integrity and accuracy.
  • Proactively identify and implement enhancements to payroll processes, delivering efficient and effective solutions.
  • Serve as the go-to expert for Payroll Administrators, offering guidance and resolving complex issues with your wealth of experience.
  • Deliver intelligent, insightful reports that help optimize business performance and support strategic decisions.
  • Champion a service excellence mindset, role-modeling best practices and coaching the team to consistently deliver exceptional service.
  • Leverage your knowledge of multi-country computerized payroll systems to manage complex, multinational payrolls effectively.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders, ensuring payroll processes align with their needs and organizational goals.

 

Qualifications and skills

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a payroll specialist or in a related payroll/finance role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of payroll processing, employment laws, and local payroll regulations.
  • Knowledge of GDPR and data privacy laws.
  • Familiarity with in-country regulatory bodies, tax requirements, and statutory rules and regulations.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including using functions (e.g., Fx), creating pivot tables, charts, and conducting data analysis for business insights.
  • Expert in PowerBI for analyzing data and reporting on KPIs and performance metrics.
  • SAP/Concur: Experience processing purchase orders, invoices, and financial transactions.
  • Kronos/Time & Attendance Systems: Ability to support sites in capturing time and attendance data and liaising between sites and payroll providers/teams.
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills to proactively run reports, check payroll routines, and provide meaningful payroll insights to the business.
