Why does this job exist and why is it critical?​

Reporting to the Head of Demand Centre and Marketing, this role is a hybrid of strategy, leadership and execution. The role is one out of 5 essential marketing functions, including Segment Marketing, Digital Assets, Brand Comms and Content Marketing, and you’ll be required to work closely with these functions to envision and execute market-leading Marketing Activation strategies that encompasses brand, sponsorship, on-ground activation and partnership activities to enable strong growth and thought leadership of the Maxis Business brand positioning and solution leadership.

The role is also responsible for ensuring that processes associated with the delivery of these strategic plans operate efficiently. In short, you will be joining a team that is responsible to enhance and drive Maxis Business’ brand image, positioning and message to market.

What are you accountable for?

  • Lead, strategize, ideate, and oversee exciting and effective activation experiences including Maxis Business brand events; Enterprise thought leadership events; Corporate and media events; to engage, increase brand awareness and affinity; generate earned media value; to achieve the set objectives.
  • Proactively study the market, generate insights and identify potential partners to work with and run collaborations with for brand activations to meet the agreed objectives and KPIs for the targeted products and segments.
  • To proactively engage with Marketing, Product, Segment and Brandcomms teams to plan and maintain a rolling Enterprise activation calendar. To be the main point of contact for the Regions (Central, Northern, Southern, East Coast and East Malaysia) on activation & execution, and consistently engage with the rest of Segment Sales teams and other relevant parties to ensure consistent alignment across all channels of communications.
  • To be the main lead in all press conferences, product launches and brand activations, and work with Product, Marcomm and Corporate Affairs teams to develop the messaging for the events and ensure that all parties are aligned accordingly.
  • To oversee and inspire all Event Organizers and agencies to execute effective and good quality experiences within the stipulated timelines and budget; manage vendor performance evaluations and generate closure reports after each event. To track and be accountable for the costings & the success of the events, which are measured from feedback in closure reports, final costings, and publicity PR value from media output/ postmortem reports.
  • To develop and adhere to the Maxis Business Marketing Execution & Regions Standard Operating Procedures, guidelines, and processes to ensure consistent quality across all events. To continuously improve the ways of working with our vendors and manage the costs of events. To manage the pitching exercise to select and appoint suitable Event Organizers on a bi-annual basis, organize quarterly reviews and manage their performances.
  • To identify and assess suitable partnership/sponsorship/speaking/selling opportunities to enhance Maxis Business’ branding.
