Job Description

The Finance & Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining accurate accounting and bookkeeping records for the company and its associated entities. Beyond core accounting duties, the role will involve close collaboration with senior management in the development of budgets, income projections, and strategic financial plans. The Finance & Accounting Manager will also contribute to high-impact projects such as valuation models, investor reporting, and financial analysis to support decision-making and business growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee end-to-end financial operations, including the supervision of daily bookkeeping, accounting adjustments, bank and partner reconciliations, and payment cycles across the company and its associated entities.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation and review of budgets, financial reports, forecasts, and both internal and external reporting.
  • Support and coordinate external audits, including audit fieldwork, preparation of statutory financial statements, and group consolidations.
  • Prepare and review financial reports for management, investors, board members, regulatory authorities, and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax filings in compliance with local regulations, in collaboration with external tax advisors. Oversee the preparation of transfer pricing documentation to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Plan, manage, and forecast daily cash flow and working capital needs to support business continuity and operational stability.
  • Research and evaluate funding opportunities (e.g., government grants, market expansion initiatives) and assist in the preparation of grant applications and related documentation.
  • Conduct and lead regular benchmarking exercises and financial assessments of partners and business affiliates to support strategic decision-making and performance monitoring.
  • Collaborate closely with senior management to develop and refine long-term financial projections and align budgeting strategies with the company’s overall strategic goals.
  • Partner with the in-house tech team to identify and implement process automation and efficiency improvements within the finance function. This includes overseeing system migration exercises and ongoing system enhancements.
  • Assisting the management with related administrative and general requirements of the business as and when required (we’re a fast-scaling start-up so everyone chips in anything and everything!)

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, ICAEW) are strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, or financial management roles; experience in audit, financial planning, or startup environments is a plus.
  • Proven ability to lead or supervise finance functions, with a strong grasp of end-to-end financial operations, reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of local tax regulations, financial standards, and familiarity with consolidation, audit processes, and transfer pricing documentation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external parties.
  • Highly motivated, self-driven, and proactive, with a strong sense of accountability and ownership over assigned responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while managing multiple priorities and maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, with a continuous improvement approach and openness to process automation and system enhancements.
  • Ability to be a team player and act professionally and ethically in all business dealings.
