Role Overview
As the Chef de Partie, you are first and foremost a Chef, one who leads by doing. You will oversee and manage our production kitchen while remaining hands-on in cooking, quality control, and recipe execution.
This role is ideal for someone who is independent, proactive, and passionate about cooking, with a strong interest in learning and experimenting with new cuisines and recipes. You will work closely with kitchen teams, Picha chefs, and cross-functional departments to ensure smooth operations, consistent food quality, and high hygiene standards.
This role reports directly to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities:
Kitchen Operations & Management
- Oversee daily production kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow and consistent food quality.
- Lead kitchen execution as a Chef, ensuring recipes are followed and standards are maintained.
- Manage inventory, procurement, and stock planning to support uninterrupted kitchen operations.
- Source ingredients and coordinate purchases; assist with ingredient pickups when required (driving required).
- Ensure strict compliance with halal kitchen standards, food safety, and hygiene regulations through regular checks and inspections.
- Identify and resolve operational or production issues quickly while implementing cost-efficient practices without compromising quality.
- Plan manpower and shift schedules to ensure optimal kitchen coverage and productivity.
Team Leadership & Training
- Coordinate and assign daily tasks to kitchen staff and Picha chefs to meet production timelines.
- Train, mentor, and guide kitchen team members on cooking techniques, hygiene practices, and kitchen discipline.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative kitchen culture that encourages teamwork and continuous improvement.
Product Development & Quality Control
- Collaborate with product and sales teams to refine recipes, portioning, and presentation for consistency and scalability.
- Maintain strong quality control across all food produced.
- Conduct food training and onboarding sessions for refugee community members joining as Picha chefs, in collaboration with the community team.
- Support the review and resolution of food feedback by identifying root causes and recommending improvements to recipes, processes, or execution.
