Job Summary

Responsible for coordinating and managing the maintenance of shipping equipment, ensuring operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with industry regulations. The role involves monitoring equipment usage, coordinating with vendors and service providers, and optimizing asset utilization to support smooth shipping operations. 

Job Scope

1. Equipment Management & Operations 

• Monitor and manage the movement of empty and laden containers to ensure optimal equipment utilization. 
• Track equipment inventory and maintain accurate records in the system. 
• Manifest submission for empty containers. 
• Monitor depots inventory daily and ensures timely clean-up of overdue containers. 
• Handle Off Hire containers, including obtaining necessary approvals and ensuring prompt re-delivery.  

2. Vendor & Service Provider Coordination 

• Coordinate with vendors, depots, and repair facilities to ensure service quality and efficiency. 
• Resolve operational issues, including equipment shortages, delays and maintenance requirements. 

3.Compliance & Safety 

• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations regarding equipment handling.  
• Ensure all equipment meets industry safety and regulatory standards. 
• Work closely with relevant authorities and internal teams on compliance matters.

4. Reporting 

• Prepare and present reports on equipment performance, issues, and recommendations to senior management.

5. Others 

• Collaborate with internal departments. 
• Assist in meeting operational requirements, enhancing competitive advantages and reporting to the Regional Operation Manager. 
• Ensure job orders are created within the given timeframe with no outstanding jobs exceeding 60 days. 

Job Requirements

Qualification

• Candidate must possess at least a bachelor's degree in business studies / management, Logistics / Transportation or equivalent.    
• At least 1 year of working experience and knowledge in shipping operation, equipment management or container logistics. Fresh graduates are encouraged. 
• Knowledge and experience in Marine and terminal operations. 
• Experience in fulfilling customers’ EQM requirements or needs. 
• Ability to work under pressure and solve operational issues promptly.
