The Earnest Co

The Earnest Co. is a group of individuals that were once wiped out by a disaster (The Flood that devastated Klang Valley and many parts of Malaysia in December 2021). That did not stop us and we decided to band together to make a difference to Malaysia agricultural landscape through innovative and sustainable farming.
Post-pandemic, the significance of food security and environmental stewardship has become clear for Malaysia. With underutilised arable land and a tropical climate, the country should prioritise growing food and cash crops.
We reap what we sow and with today’s climate change, The Earnest Co. seeks to do all we can to ensure that we protect the soil that we grow our food. We emphasise environmental stewardship. We are always ready to work with the government, the community and the related industries to strengthen the country’s food security.

Why We Exist?

<li>To reduce Malaysia's dependency on food imports by revitalising underutilised land and cultivating high-demand crops (Pineapple) &amp; future proteins (duckweed)</li>
<li>To utilise regenerative practices for environmental regeneration of the soil</li>
<li>To uplift local communities (Orang Aslit to residents of rehabilitation centers) via knowledge sharing, provision of stable jobs and creating a new generation of "Agropreneurs".</li>

Our Mission

As a Finance Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the day-to-day finance function of a growing business — from accounting entries, invoices, payments, claims, reconciliations, and financial reporting to basic payroll support. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organised, responsible, and eager to learn how accurate financial records, strong controls, and timely reporting help a business make better decisions.
Your Responsibilities will be:
<ol>
<li>Assist with daily accounting and finance operations, including data entry, invoice recording, payment updates, receipts, and expense claims.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Support account reconciliation and document checking to ensure finance records are accurate, complete, and properly supported.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Assist in preparing finance reports, schedules, trackers, and management summaries for cash flow, expenses, revenue, and other business updates.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Maintain organised finance documents and filing records, including invoices, payment vouchers, receipts, claims, contracts, audit and tax supporting documents.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Provide basic payroll support by helping compile attendance, leave, claims, allowance, and other payroll-related information when required.</li>
</ol>
