About the position: This role reports into our Head of Engineering Excellence within the Product and Engineering (P&amp;E) function. You will be responsible for managing all P&amp;E Software licenses. This includes managing new requests, renewals and additions and ensuring there are robust and scaleable processes in place making the necessary changes as required. You will be responsible for managing spend approvals, monitoring and managing license use, harvesting licenses for optimal use, identifying efficiency savings including the consolidation of licenses, monitoring spend against budget and forecast and supporting budget planning. You will work closely with stakeholders across P&amp;E, and will represent the Excellence team in terms of all P&amp;E licensing discussions. It is important you enjoy building relationships to enable collaborative working with a wide group of peers and stakeholders. You enjoy inspiring and influencing others and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Day-to-day, you will: challenges • Capture any new software spend requests that come via email or IT tickets - Update Software spend worksheet • Engage with requesters and support through spend process • Working with teams to harvest and/or consolidate licences across the P&amp;E function • Investigating licence usage across P&amp;E, making recommendations for change to support efficiency and savings. • Run weekly Spend Council meetings - Follow up on any actions and - Process approvals • Assisting teams with follow up process post approval, working with Management Accounts and Purchase Ledger where required • Work with Head of Excellence to refine the process based on feedback Skills and Experiences will include: • Have experience in managing software purchasing and license use. This includes an understanding of how to harvest licenses, manage the process for requests and monitor and plan for spend. • Ability to implement changes to processes to drive efficiency. • Be pragmactic in your approach to ensure the best fit for all. • Have an understanding of financial implications of licensing expenditure. • You have an understanding of the software development lifecycle and ideally have worked in a software development environment. • You have great attention to detail and are able to define new processes to support improvement. • You are excellent at creating appropriate documentation to explain solutions or to support the implementation of initiatives and learning. • You have good influencing skills and are confident in presenting to large audiences and or senior stakeholders. • You take pride in your work and the work of your team. • You demonstrate ownership, responsibility and good decision-making skills.
