About the role

We are seeking a driven Purchasing Officer/Executive to join our team in Muar District, Johor. As a Purchasing Officer/Executive, you will play a vital role in managing and optimising our procurement processes to support the smooth operations of our manufacturing business. This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth and development within our organisation.

What you'll be doing

• Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from identifying supplier needs to negotiating contracts and placing orders
• Research and evaluate potential suppliers, ensuring we obtain the best quality materials and services at competitive prices
• Collaborate with production, inventory and finance teams to maintain optimal stock levels and minimise disruptions
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure favourable terms and pricing, while maintaining strong relationships
• Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, procedures and relevant regulations
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records and reporting
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and implement continuous improvements 

Job Requirements

What we're looking for

• Minimum 2-3 years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably within the manufacturing, transport or logistics industries
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills with the ability to build effective relationships
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to optimise procurement and inventory levels
• Proficient in using procurement software, ERP systems and MS Office applications
• Degree or diploma in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or a related field
• Effective communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia
• A detail-oriented, organised approach with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
