Havil International School

Havil International School was founded by Charlie Koh in April 2012. It began with a vision to alleviate poverty in East Malaysia through the medium of education. An opportunity arose in the form of a private venture to run a school in a vacant school building in Brickfields. Without a doubt, Mr Koh accepted this opportunity with the aim of channelling support for the development of an English language program in the remote places of Sarawak. He saw the need to provide the tools that would enable youths in underprivileged communities to bring about transformation in their own community by being a voice for the voiceless. 
Havil International School became a Cambridge School in 2014 and offers the Cambridge Primary and Secondary curriculum provided by Cambridge Assessment International Examination (CAIE). Havil joins the community of over 10,000 Cambridge schools located in more than 160 countries worldwide under the registered number MY865.&nbsp;

Our Beginnings 

HAVIL 
“Havil” means virtue or character. We have the privilege of working with a school community that is committed to modelling, expecting and recognising good character in our students. We believe that students learn these qualities through the example that we set for them and by consistently putting them into practice. Character Character is a matter of the heart. It cannot be taught, it must be caught. We recognise the important role that parents and teachers play in shaping the way our children respond in situations that test their patience, integrity, honesty and grit. At Havil, we seek to employ the 5 Havil Principles in our day-to-day interactions with one another - staff, parents, families, students and the wider school community. If we want to see a change in the next generation, it has to start with us! 
Competence
Each one of our students has something to bring to the table. We are entrusted with the responsibility to raise a generation of learners who will not crumble under pressure, who recognise the importance of caring for others - expecting nothing in return, and who choose to live by the principles and values that have been instilled in them even if they have to endure hardship and difficulties.
Community
We cannot take full credit for the successes that we witness as a school. Every member of our school community - staff, parents, families, friends, and students - share the privilege of growing and learning together. The values that we choose to develop in one another help make sense of all that we do as a school and give purpose to the contribution that we make to our wider community.

Admissions

<li>Personally oversee each stage of the onboarding process for new families: enquiry, assessment, application, interview, acceptance, and admission up to tuition fee payment and student orientation.</li>
<li>Assist in matters pertaining to the Immigration Department of Malaysia, and/or other relevant government departments on student-related administration, such as but not limited to processing of documents for enrolment, visa application and other immigration matters.</li>
<li>Build and maintain professional relationships with all stakeholders, which includes following-up on enquiries and parent feedback.</li>
<li>Follow through with all applications to the point of final acceptance or withdrawal of interest by reviewing application forms and submitted documents.</li>

Marketing
<ul>
<li>Develop and spearhead both physical and digital marketing strategies and campaigns to publicise the school and boost student enrolment.</li>
<li>Organise and spearhead student recruitment events such as Open Day, external events, and other related events where required.</li>
<li>Attend to enquiries by prospects through the presentation of information regarding the school as featured in the enquiry slides and promotional materials.</li>
<li>Manage social media platforms utilised by the school such as Facebook, Instagram, and Mailchimp to effectively market the school.</li>
<li>Review content on the Havil website on a regular basis in order to ensure all information provided in the website is accurate and up-to-date.</li>
