Job Description

About the Role

We’re looking for a versatile and proactive Group Human Resource Generalist to support the full range of HR functions across ELS Language Centres and its associate companies. This role ensures smooth HR operations, compliance with local regulations, and a positive employee experience. You’ll work closely with Heads of Departments to provide guidance and support on recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training, and HR administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage end-to-end hiring for local and expatriate staff, from job posting to onboarding.
     
  • HR Operations: Maintain accurate HR records, contracts, and reports; support payroll preparation and compliance with labour laws.
     
  • Employee Relations: Handle staff enquiries and grievances, support wellbeing initiatives, and promote a healthy workplace culture.
     
  • Training & Development: Coordinate training programmes, HRDC claims, and track training effectiveness.
     
  • Expatriate Management: Handle work pass applications, renewals, and related documentation in compliance with immigration requirements.
     
  • Reports & Analytics: Prepare regular HR updates and insights for management.
     
  • Office & Event Support: Assist with company events, HR projects, and centre-level administrative needs.
     

Job Requirements

 Education:

  • Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related discipline.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant HR operational experience preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong working knowledge of Malaysian Employment Act, Industrial Relations Act, Immigration procedures, and HRDF requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HR information systems.
  • Strong organisational, multitasking, and time management skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
